Gryphon Tarot: The Hermit
The card can mean wisdom, humility, solitude, searching, detachment, deliberation, and observation. The Hermit (IX)is by no means a shy card, showing us that we must stand on our own two (or four) feet and rely on past experience and past knowledge to find our way. Commonly depicted as an aged man, our gryphon here has seen his share of years. The lantern he carries is commonly known as he "Lantern of Wisdom", and symbolizes all the light and knowledge that he has gained throughout his years.
